Announcing a Greenwall Foundation Webinar, “A Bioethics Conversation: What’s Next for Psychedelics?”

Earlier this year, President Trump signed an executive order directing the current Administration to speed up federal research and fast-track FDA review of certain psychedelic drugs with the goal of increasing access to potential treatments for conditions like severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. This growing attention to the promise of psychedelic therapies also raises important ethical questions as psychedelic research and clinical applications continue to advance.

To explore some of those questions, The Greenwall Foundation will host a webinar, A Bioethics Conversation: What’s Next for Psychedelics?, on Thursday, July 23 at 2 p.m. ET.

The webinar will bring together panelists to reflect on the current legal and regulatory environment, the state of psychedelic research, and psychedelic use within and outside of healthcare settings. Panelists will explore a range of ethical issues, including equitable access, informed consent, evidentiary standards, and the responsible integration of psychedelic therapies into clinical care.

Register here to hear from I. Glenn Cohen, JD; Amy McGuire, JD, PhD; and David B. Yaden, PhD, as they share their insights on this important and timely topic.

  • Prof. Cohen, is the James A. Attwood and Leslie Williams Professor of Law, Deputy Dean, and Faculty Director of the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology & Bioethics at Harvard Law School.

  • Prof. McGuire, is the Leon Jaworski Professor of Biomedical Ethics and Director of the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine.

  • Prof. Yaden is an Associate Professor and the Roland Griffiths Professor of Psychedelic Research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

After the panelists present opening remarks, the webinar will shift to a moderated panel discussion, with audience questions welcomed.

The webinar will be broadcast via Zoom and is free and open to the public. You can register here.
