David J. Schofield, Jr., CFA, is Founder and CIO at Arrowwood Advisors, LLC.
Mr. Schofield spent over 30 years as an institutional investor in the US. Starting his investment career as a buy-side equity analyst and building on successively more responsible roles, David worked mostly in the endowment & foundation world, vetting, and selecting investment managers and building global, multi-asset class portfolios. He was responsible for investing $2.5 billion in non-US equity markets while at the Commonfund, then spent seven years at the Brown University endowment office. Moving to the commercial side, he was the OCIO at Hall Capital in San Francisco for the institutional clients, responsible for ~$4 billion in assets. Most recently, David helped launch and build the endowment office and portfolio at the University of California, San Francisco over seven years. During his time at UCSF, David had significant exposure to the capabilities of the healthcare & research facilities at UCSF, as well as broader issues facing healthcare, such as health equity. David founded Arrowwood Advisors in 2023 to bring this experience to bear across various investment firms and Board positions.
Mr. Schofield graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science and earned an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He has served on the Investment Committee of the De LaSalle Institute in Napa, CA for over ten years. He is a member of the CFA Institute and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Schofield is a Board Director of Hara Global, a London-based investment firm focused on Indian equities, and is registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
