Johanna Brownell joined the Foundation in 2018 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. Among her duties are to support the Foundation and its Board in their mission. She also assists in managing the Foundation’s grants programs, as well as planning all Scholar, Board, and Foundation events.
Prior to joining The Greenwall Foundation, Johanna worked for the late William G. Bowen, President Emeritus of Princeton University and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She worked with Mr. Bowen for over 10 years, until his passing. She collaborated on over 6 books, 20 talks, and other events with respect to issues in higher education and corporate and nonprofit governance.
Johanna has varied experience; she lived and worked in Russia and speaks fluent Russian. She is also an experienced and avid traveler, and enjoys theatre, dance, and reading.
